Yes. From the Icelandair website:

"Iceland is a member of the Schengen Area, which means that travelers who are moving between Schengen countries are exempt from having to go through passport control. "Passengers who arrive from or travel to a country outside Schengen via Kelfavík airport, i.e. the UK, Ireland, or North America, must go through passport control on departure and arrival in Iceland."

Yes.

For US-KEF-Germany/France (or any other onward Schengen destination), passport control is required to be cleared at KEF. Thankfully, there is no required passenger security re-screening applicable for such trips at/via KEF; and so it’s just the Schengen entry passport control line you have to clear at KEF before you make your way to your onward flight gate for a US-KEF-onward Schengen destination trip when sticking to the airside transit/transfer route at KEF to get between the flights.
