I think I saw the ability to upload vaccine info somewhere to SAS during the dummy booking process I have done recently. I don't know what all the use is of that or if it is part of IATA's initiative but it might be a baby step forward. And thank you very much for information about antigen testing. I expect to finalize a booking to CPH sometime this week and, assuming the requirements for entry to buildings and indoor dining still exist when I get there, I will avail myself of testing (unless the magic CDC vaccination card allows me to bypass all that).

Stockholm - Malmö Sturup flight tickets remain more difficult to get using miles than Stockholm - Copenhagen flight tickets using miles. Guess which route most Swedes still can’t or don’t want to fly. :D

Confusing Information
I’ve been tracking the Danish entry info closely. It looked like vaccinated Americans could come but now the website is saying that the vaccine needs to be administer in the EU? Does anyone have a clear picture of whether vaccinated Americans (who were vaccinated in the US) will make it though customs at CPH?

An agreement has been published following today's meeting, listing four phases for June 14, August 1, September 1 and October 1.
The first phase basically reduces mask use to public transportation when traffic is dense and you’re standing. A slight reduction in the use of the coronapas means it’s no longer needed for libraries and leisurely club activities. Also, various adjustments in opening hours of bars etc. The link is below. Bring your Danish translator (or Google translate) and your lawyer. :) Aftale om yderligere udfasning af restriktioner mv. fra den 11. juni 2021 https://www.justitsministeriet.dk/wp...-juni-2021.pdf See also newspapers such as these (same wording). https://www.berlingske.dk/politik/da...ind-fra-mandag https://politiken.dk/indland/politik...ind-fra-mandag https://jyllands-posten.dk/indland/E...nd-fra-mandag/ |
So apparently coronasmitte.dk is getting hammered with traffic, to the point of the site at times being inaccessible. Make sure to sceeenshot or print out the site info if planning to use it and not wanting to count on TIMATIC being accurate to fly to/via Denmark.
I am flying to Denmark later today and will do so by presenting myself to the airline as an ordinary third country national visitor to Denmark using the ticket, an ordinary US passport and CDC card to fly to Denmark from within the Schengen zone. Not going to show any test results to fly, so it will be interesting to see how this flies with the airlines. |

Not nonstop from Malmö Sturup, I take it. :o (Has there ever been one?) How did it go?
There were at least two ARN-MMX flights today on SAS, but even ordinarily I avoid Sturup like I try to avoid COVID-19 — although I’m a considerable bit less successful with avoiding Sturup. :D I checked in online for my flight from ARN to CPH but did a paper printout of boarding pass at a kiosk. At the ARN gate I showed the paper boarding pass and my CDC card but no showing by me of passports to anyone at ARN. Then the gate agent wrote Docs OK on the paper boarding pass. It seemed like most everyone had to do that at boarding gate area with test results or vaccination; but maybe some had done it at check-in where luggage drop-off is landslide or at the transfer desk area. At the ARN gate, I was one of the rare ones — if not the only one on my flight — using paper for proof of vaccination. The two guys working the gate seemed to have not seen the CDC cards yet and asked me if I had anything else beside the CDC card, but he went with assuming it was ok after he had a passing mention and flashing exchange with his colleague. No ID/passport check for me at ARN. My CDC card has machine type on it for my vaccination details and less handwriting on it that most other CDC cards I’ve seen completed. On arrival at CPH, all passengers were directed down the steps and onto a packed bus to go to the testing area. After getting off the bus and inside the terminal, vaccinated passengers stick to the right side of the divider while most of the rest are to go on the left side. Even for the vaccinated side, a couple of testers grab some vaccinated people for testing anyway. So it may be a case of wanting to time it right — like I did — so as not to be one of the not-so-random “random” test subjects among the vaccinated. Adjusting your walking pace until the couple of testing personnel are busy works. After passing the testing area and testing waiting area, vaccinated passengers too head up to the secondary (as in not the usual main) passport control. Now this is where it got interesting for me and one or more other people. I only presented my ordinary US passport and CDC card; and when asked where I was going said I wasn’t sure if I was staying in CPH or Malmö. She then asked me why didn’t I take the train to Malmö then. :D. I told her it’s faster for me to fly than take a train, and she seemed like she didn’t like that answer. I then tossed in something about the price was right for the time required, and she thought that I meant the price was cheaper to fly to CPH and seemed happy with her own interpretation of the situation. I kept quiet about that, even as the available paid fare for ARN-CPH for my flight at the time of booking was at least double what the train’s available paid fare would cost — if there were even any sort of convenient trains available for me at a useful time. :D I did notice she did ask some other third country national about presenting a residence card along with the passport, even as I am pretty sure that the person doesn’t ordinarily require carrying around an EU/NPU country residence card to fly from Sweden to CPH and then to Skane. I have to wonder how this would go for children, since NPU citizen children aren’t required to have a photo ID/passport to fly to or enter Denmark from an NPU country or otherwise cross borders within the NPU area, and yet there is fixed passport control checks at CPH even for flights from other NPU countries. I’m pretty sure that the Danish guy whom I don’t like in the Danish government hasn’t been able to legally change that yet. [He reminds me of his UK counterpart, and I’ve got nothing good to say about her. :D] I did deliberately choose to use the All Passports line which seemed slowest per passenger at the passport control counter. It’s not like they’re going to PNG me or that I would care if they want to send me packing back to the US. |

I'm constantly asked to complete lots of captchas and if the website ever loads, it's impossible to remove the cookie warning. I also get "Error 524 A timeout occurred" and "Error 520 Web server is returning an unknown error" and "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable". Did you have the same problems?

After being admitted into Denmark yesterday, I didn’t get time to try to see if I could make it in — or should I say out :D — toward the side where the Eventyr lounge is. If I knew I could do another run into the same person working Danish passport control after my ARN-CPH flight and had time for it, I would have seen if it could be done.

Denmark’s reopening didn’t seem to come with any increased control of train passengers coming from Sweden. But I wasn’t checking closely and didn’t get a chance to ask around to see if any noticeable/noteworthy change has happened with that since this Danish border opening to the vaccinated even without tests. |
