Does anyone know of any promotions with AT&T wireless? I'm thinking of making the switch to an iPhone but want to sweeten the pot by earning some bonus points at the same time. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks!

As mentioned above a number of airline ff programs have mileage offers for wireless. However, when I was looking (about a year ago) I was never able to find one that worked for the iPhone. You can generally get about 5,000 miles to sign up but no one seems to offer the deal with the iPhone.

There is a referral program for AT&T, where both the referrer and the referred get a $25 gift card to spend on AT&T (which you can use to pay your bill). If you're interested, I'd be happy to refer you. There is a (very old) thread here about that, too... search for "cingular." The referral program is still in place. It's not miles, but it's not nothing.

You don't mention which airlines you want miles or points for but both Alaska ( http://www.mileageplanwireless.com/ ) and United ( http://www.mileagepluswireless.com/ ) have 5,000 miles through their programs; I don't know if iPhone is one of the choices but they offer all the carriers including AT&T.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9000/4.6.0.167 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
Got my miles from the AS program
Signed up late march and they posted in around a month ^$
Not sure the iphone was an option either- I got the BB Bold...

Please let me know of any dead links. I haven't looked at that page for awhile.
Thanks.

compare prices first
Before purchasing or upgrading phone service with a seller who provides miles, I suggest you compare the phone prices to those offered from the cell phone company directly (either online, at store or by phone). I found that the intermediate seller offering miles often had higher prices, and since the purpose of miles is typically to save money by getting free tickets, unless you need the miles for a particular award or to keep your mileage account alive, getting miles for phone service may not be a good value.

I should note then that the referral program should be combinable with bonuses given by intermediate sellers. I'm not positive about this, but it seems like that's the case.
