For a new feature, cost/ mile flown.
For a CPU time saving suggestion, let people specify their window of departure flexibility. I am often in a situation when I may have only 10-days flexibility but the software gives no choice but a 30-day search.

I tried it. Until I see something radically different, it was the first and last time I'll be doing so. The inability to search multiple origin and destination airports is a total deal breaker -- if I just want to do a point-to-point search in a nice GUI and with slider bars for parameters, I will use Kayak and it will be a lot faster. The appeal of ITA has always been that it allowed superusers to really go to town with complex query language and multiple airports in the to/from fields.
This is a total flop so far and doesn't even replicate what other sites already do better. Here's to hoping that Matrix 1 isn't replaced by this -- I'd never have a reason to use it as a tool again.
peace,
~Ben~

I'm going to put some (perhaps blind) faith in the promises of the Matrix 2 team, and also echo aktchi's feedback.
Cost per BIS mile would be a great add-on feature for MRers, and apparently pretty simple to incorporate.
Multiple departure/destination searches are also essential.
----------------------------
Recently though, when I've used the month long search on matrix2, and I click on a date, there will suddenly pop up lower fares than the ones originally shown (sometimes on different carriers, which aren't shown at all in the calendar view). Also, some of these fares have really long layovers (80-90 hours), which are great as "hidden" stopovers, but I can't book them on any sites.
These fares don't show up in matrix1.
Is the matrix2 team aware of this? What's going on with these fares/searches?

My only complaint left with Matrix2 is the lack of 300 mile radius search that so useful in tight situations. This is why I keep going to Matrix1.

Slowness of Date field and other interfaces
ITA Hacker - is there anything you can do about the Date field interfaces? I understand the desire to have a calendar popup (I assume this is some sort of javascript?), but this really slows down the manual entry of desired dates, to the extent that my searches are often ending up incorrectly as same-day turns because the Return date is not properly registered. Perhaps those calendars can be set to popup only if one clicks on a calendar icon adjacent to the Date box?
The autocomplete functions of the Origin and Destination fields also slow things down similarly.
One of the great things about ITA is the ability to use the language to enter routing and fare codes, etc., and for experienced users to do so quickly. Unfortunately, those features are being compromised with this new implementation (one might say 'dumbing down') of the website.
Thanks for listening - I love the site and some of the new features on the flight display pages are, indeed, improvements, but I'm quite frustrated with the interface right now.
P.S.: Also, I've noticed that if you tab through the Sales city field without changing anything, it generates an error icon and message: "The value entered is not valid."
