MazdaMP, the link you have provided points to no specific topic.
Anyway, I've just discovered the Aeroplan service termination myself. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Any alternatives? Plus, seatmap.com has been asking me for a user name and password? ------------------ truly yours. airOli. |
Hi to you all,
I just phoned aeroplan and asked them about it. Here is a short summary of the answer: - Too much traffic - Although a high traffic volume not enough bookings - Other agency´s who didn´t have direct access to Galilleo or Amadeus were using their booking engine - Other Websites displayed the results as their own - and the last point: The company of the reservation system asked them to close down this great service-tool But a good outlook for all FQT´s! Aeroplan plans to bring up a new service where the user has to register for! Regards Mark |
THAT is really toooooo bad ! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
Hope it comes back soon! ------------------ Viele Grüße Oliver |

This was bound to happen sooner or later, 100's of people were using it without ever pushing any revenue their way and several sites were offering it as their own without making it extremely clear who was paying for the service. I'm amazed it lasted this long.

I would be glad to pay for access to this information.

Mark,
Thanks for making the call. I'm impressed that you managed to get these answers -- wouldn't have thought it would be that easy to reach whatever person at Aeroplan actually knows what's going on here. (It's not as if every front-line telephone staff person would be in the loop...) |

YIKES! Another nice easy tool down the drain. Another good one that was shot down years ago was www.easysabre.com . I guess the bottom line is the ever-fumbling airline industry dont like dealing with people possessing any knowledge other than (1) "from", (2) "to" and (3) "when".

This is definitely a sad day. I just found out that it's down, and came running here. I check the site every day to check on inventory for an award I'm trying to book. I guess now I'll just have to call the airline directly every couple of days.

Most travel agencies will allow you access to their booking engines (with the ticketing commands disabled) for a fee of $50 per month.

Anyone knows how to access seatmap.com? It seems to be protected since yesterday evening.
