I used to use the etour site (Japanese) and have been using the Amex ITN site to check fare buckets and seat maps.

I had never used the Aeroplan Galileo site.

Can someone help me understand what it offered that the ITN does not? Thanx!

One particularly helpful feature was availability of "private" fare buckets (upgrades, award seats, etc.) not published via other systems.

Also, the Aeroplan system (and the old etour system) had very nice UIs -- fast-loading, no time-consuming signup procedures, etc. Big time-savers!

It provided the same basic functionality that ITN does in 'expert' mode, but with one important difference: it showed more fare buckets than ITN does.

For example, it showed award inventory for AA, which ITN does not. This is primarily what I used it for. Although AA themselves now has award booking online, it frustratingly won't let you view award availability for any award that you don't currently have enough miles to redeem. There are many legitimate situations where you might want to view award inventory for awards that you don't currently have miles for, such as a) planning an award for multiple people, where each person will be redeeming out of their own account and no person has enough miles to even view the multi-person availability, b) you have miles on the way from a partner (such as Starwood or Diners Club) or will move them if an award were available, or c) you already have an award ticketed, and want to change the travel dates.

It's very frustrating that AA has set up their website so that you can't view award availability in any of the above situations. That's where the Galileo/Aeroplan solution worked really well. I'm sure that there are many other situations with other carriers that fall into the same general situation.

As for me, I didn't realize that this solution was being hosted (and paid for) by an individual travel agency in Germany. I had assumed for whatever reason that it was some sort of long-forgotten service provided directly by Galileo's German division. I'm thankful that we were able to use it as long as we did.

Add me to the list of people that would pay some reasonable amount of money for access to this information. The amount of time it saves as well as actual mon

My comments are appropriate and true. What you have here is a pirate into the system and screwing it all up, since he doesn't belong there in the frist place. Either it works, or it doesn't. And in a majority of cases, the program is blocked or doesn't work. From reading further, the user looks like a youngster programming for the first time.

My source is to call the airline like everyone else or use certain REGISTERED web tools.

My comments are right, not User Tool Napster 2.0.
