Best FF program for LHR-LAX in C
What would be the best FF program to collect miles for an upcoming flight LHR-LAX-LHR on BA in C class? Are their any promotions currently running that would influence the choice of the FF program?
My main goal is to come one step closer to a free flight (most likely in Y) between Europe and the US.
(edited to add airline)

There are a few country-specific promos for the BA EC programe right now. For U.K. members, you are supposed a 3x mileage offer (inc. 3x CoS bonus) if you pre-register and fly by 27 March. The German programme has one for "Club Europe" for the same dates and appears to be for actual miles only. Don't know if this promo appplies to non-European flights.
BA miles are best used toward upgrades. If you do the U.K. promo, you should earn enough miles for a r/t upgrade (to FC from BC, to BC from E+ a.k.a. WT+).

To flyer2day: If your US-UK flight is on AA metal, you can't earn BA miles for it. If your US-UK flight is on BA metal, you can't earn AA miles for it. You can only earn BA miles for AA metal or vice versa for flights other than US-UK.

You definitely can't earn AA miles for LHR-LAX-LHR flights on BA.
BA Miles may well be your best bet - particularly if there's an applicable promotion. But depending on your circumstances and any other FF plans you have, don't accidentally overlook the fact that BA have other partner schemes in which you can earn miles, including other oneworld schemes where you'd earn credit towards status as well.
