AA Million Miler

AA Million Miler
I've read that something special happens when you reach million mile status. My husband is a Platinum (3rd year) - and, he did receive a card that says "million miler" but other than that, no other benefits. I read someone said that you could get lifetime gold or platinum? Upgrades? Anything else?

You get Lifetime Gold for sure. Don't know about upgrades...
I'm about a month away from 1MM. I will get it just in time, as I would otherwise run out of AA status.
Edited to add that I have no idea how AA.com will display his status given that he is an active Platinum.
