Chase offers this too:

You can also add up to three additional cards for others on your joint checking account and pay no additional annual fees. Plus each new cardholder will receive 2,500 bonus OnePass miles.
Any idea how to add an additional card? Did not find anything on the Chase website.

Has Anybody done this and received 2,500 bonus miles?

Thanks!

I did a direct deposit from my Citi bank account ... don't know, if this will work.

Chase is asking for this:

Terms and Conditions

Also, to qualify for the first 10,000 bonus miles you must initiate a repeating direct deposit such as payroll, Social Security or other government benefits.

Even $25 fee is eligible for (total) 21k miles, so I didn't mind. But somehow the Chase employee made another account for me, some strange saving account (forgot its name - work saving account or something), and I don't know why but fee didn't charged at all. No fee for other account, either. Now I closed that account, no fee but got 20k (it was 20k early last year).

This year I opened another checking account for the same promotion. I'm waiting for 21k, but I doubt fee will be waived again. Well, $25 is fine for me for 21k considering CO credit card has $85 fee.

My coupon didn't work on-line - apparently due to problems with the system -so I used it by phone, due to lack of branches on the West Coast and lack of WaMu coordination and hope that it will work - as I was assured.

With these debit cards, do you get miles for cash back taken with a debit (PIN type) transaction? I could see this being lucrative (though maybe a bit of a pain) if I take out cash to pay bills when I buy groceries.

Your Coupon is not supposed to work online & in fact is designed not to work online. Hence why it says "take it to your local branch."

No. You do not get miles for any debit transaction that requires a PIN. All PIN transactions receive NO Miles.

Well .... it so happened that many of the Chase "Internet-Bankers" I was transferred to during the phone-application process explicitly told me that the promotion was for on-line application ONLY and would guide me through the online process, just to get stuck with the code at the end !

Thanks. I saw 'debit card' and thought PIN transactions. You are correct it's only for signature type transactions.

What about the 2.5k bonus miles for additional cardholders? The T&C say this:

"Plus each new cardholder will receive 2,500 bonus OnePass miles. Please allow 6-10 weeks after your first qualifying purchase for bonus OnePass miles to post to your OnePass account."

So who gets the miles? Me or the additional cardholder? It's a little unclear.

I have also wondered about that, it doesnt make sense if i open an acccount and the other person is added to my account, but yet they get 2,500 miles?

Well, my reading indicated paypal will not work, but ING will.
Opened an ING orange, got it linked, funded, and verified.

Try to link ING to this new Chase for required DD,
ING will not let me link a second account for 30 days.

This is getting challenging.....

Obviously not that fast, but all within 6-8 weeks, as they promised. So I would wait until mid-Feb, which is 8 weeks from your opening, and then call.
It is now past mid-Feb, and the 11,000 bonus miles for using the debit card haven't shown up yet. Do I use the form from the CO website for missing miles? I don't really know how I would describe the "transaction" though. Is there somewhere else I should go or a number to call? Thanks.

I believe its too early to report any problems, i would wait 60 days after opening, that 60 days sounds about right, i havent had a problems the past 2 accounts i have opened, and have received all the miles without reporting anything. I am 30 days into my third account for my miles to post.

I would call chase for that issue. Seems there's no other way but call and ask or fight if nothing works out. Sorry for being not helpful.
