Question re comping elite status
I am American Gold and I know that many airlines will comp your elite status for a limited period of time. We just decided Friday night to use Northwest points for PBI-OSL, departing this coming Tuesday. We are booked on Continental all the way. Northwest says they do comp but it takes two weeks. The Continental service center is not open on weekends so I will call them Monday. Presuming they too need more time, what are my options? Mainly I am interested in getting better seats. The seats available are pretty bad and there are lots of Priority seats available. I will of course ask at the gate. Are there any tips that you can offer?

According to that, both CO and NW will match your AA. I don't really know how long does either status match take.

Check ~2 days before the flight to see if 16DEF open up. Those are great seats on the 752 to OSL. Also do Online Check-In (OLCI) at T-24 hours from the PBI departure. At that time all unassigned seats become available, including 5ABCD on the 738 and 7ABC and all of 15/16 on the 752s.
