The Continental service center is not open on weekends so I will call them Monday. Presuming they too need more time, what are my options? Mainly I am interested in getting better seats. The seats available are pretty bad and there are lots of Priority seats available. I will of course ask at the gate. Are there any tips that you can offer?

According to that, both CO and NW will match your AA. I don't really know how long does either status match take.
