OMNI:

O.K. Arturo,

Let's not get personal here. After meeting the Cat, I can tell you he smells no different than any other cat!

With a noble name such as Doug, you are of course welcome to join us here at FlyerTalk. Yes, some here on the board do offer their suggestions as to where things ought to be posted, but really only in the spirit of trying to make things easier to access for everyone. If the FlyerTalk people have gone to the trouble of setting up a separate US Airways forum, for example (and usually at OUR request), then we ought to use that forum for items relating to US Air. Then, everyone who is interested in US
Air and only US Air (alone, or in combination with a few other FF programs) can find the stuff they are looking for more easily.
Heck, even if you don't post in the right place, the worst that will happen here is that someone will post that they think it belongs elsewhere. Your privileges will not be revoked, no one will scream obscenities at you (as on other boards on other topics I have seen), and you can still contribute. Moreover, you shouldn't be embarassed, chagrined, or feel threatened by a bunch of people you don't even know suggesting you ought to post at some other locatin on FlyerTalk.
So, have a good time. Hope you pick up some good tips, and if you have some for us, by all means, please contribute them.

Hey doug, If you need a hired gun to take care of any of these people, you just let Ol' JAWs know. My friend, 3-finger Charlie,
from Jerzee, works real cheap and does a thorough job. He enjoys his work.

I agree with the bar analogy. If you don't like it, then don't come by. Occasionally, I run into people in San Diego that like to complain how much better it is back east. My thoughts are, then go there, we certainly don't need people here crowding up our freeways and such and then complaining about it. If you don't like it press on.

Doug:
I'd like to echo the thought expressed by several others that there are no "leaders" or "bigwigs" on this board. Catman's a monitor or sorts, but he doesn't really control anything, and the folks at FF do a pretty good job of keeping things clean. We were all new to the board once, and we've all grown up a bit since we joined. I remember that one of my first posts criticized a couple of older (not necessarily in age) members for not using English. I was quickly reminded (rightly so) that our members are an international lot and that my criticism was out of line. I might have taken offense and refused to continue to participate. If I had done that, I'd have lost a lot of valuable insight into the FF system and I wouldn't have made some new friends. Your original post was well-intended (as mine was). You just need to stick around a while - at least long enough to learn that this really a pretty nice group of people that manages to get along pretty well without any "management."
