AC miles do not expire. The T&Cs say that you have to have activity at least once in 36 months, but I don't think this is enforced.</font>

Aeroplan members currently have until December 31, 2004 to accumulate mileage and until March 31, 2005 to claim rewards for travel until December 14, 2005, inclusive. These dates are Aeroplan's contractual obligation to its members in the event the program is ever terminated. Although Aeroplan is subject to continuation, it has been extended regularly since our inception in 1984 and every time the mileage accumulated by our members was carried over.
However, Air Canada reserves the right to cancel any member's account who, on January 1, 1997 (and on January 1 of every subsequent year) has not earned Aeroplan miles during the (3) previous consecutive years, excluding any sign-up bonuses. Any member whose membership is canceled will have all accrued Aeroplan miles forfeited and he/she will be removed from the program.

Qantas Frequent Flyer points do not expire, as long as there is some activity on the account at least once every three years. Any type of activity at all counts, e.g. points from credit cards, hotels or car rentals (as well as the obvious earning or redeeming points from flights).
Details in the FAQ.
"Your Frequent Flyer points will not expire provided you earn or redeem points from your Frequent Flyer membership at least once every three years. This includes earning or redeeming points with our program partners."

I believe Aloha Airlines' miles actually don't expire. There is no clause within their AlohaPass Frequent Flyer terms page that states so, although I may be wrong.

Same with hotels. Hotel Room in Manhattan $99 with small print that says "Per person based on double occupancy." Why not Hotel Room in Manhattan $1 with a footnote that says "Per person based on 198 people occupying the room and sleeping in shifts"?
And, as we all know, whenever you see a press release headlined, Exciting New Changes Benefit Our Frequent Flyers, prepare to be seriously hosed.
Sorry for the digression.
