Misa travel is a respectable travel agency that has been in business for a long time in Singapore. I like their sites because they do post prices in great details.

I am quite surprise that they have recently establish a market place for buyer & seller of FF miles to meet. What will the airlines say about that.

Wouldn't posting a listing there (with your name and info) be an open invitation to an airline to confiscate your miles?

Yep. One would need to think it was pretty likely you'd get a stern letter to consider desisting etc if they saw you selling say LH miles or AA miles. Try listing some DL miles there and the RPU will be onto you in days I can bet.

AND you can bet your mileage account would be flagged too in future? Until someone has actually USED your miles to fly I guess there is no proof of sale or barter, unless the airlines sent a stooge in to contact you re "buying" them.

I see a pretty well known FT'er there, (and have just emailed that person suggesting caution and/or a name edit!) and it certainly is not something I'd be doing. Even on eBay the airlines do not get your first and second names and email address to make easy work of tracing you.

I'm wondering what's Singapore Airlines gonna say about this (agency). This is not a fly-by-nite travel agency. This is a leading travel agency with one of the highest turn-over in term of ticket sales in Singapore.

I suppose that they are innovative, think out of the box. It could set a new standard in FF miles, and any airlines that still refuse for their miles are traded may loose out. I for one is supporting this move.

The last time the FF industry make a major changes in their rules is the removal of mileage expiration. This has caused the airlines industry a lot of money, because before that, airlines just pocket all the miles that was not claimed within a certian time frame. I have lose nearly 20K miles before, and for that reason, I no longer collect mileage from FFP that still have a time limit rule (like SQ, TG, CX, NZ etc). I now move my business to program that doesn't expires (like KE, QF, UA, AA, etc). IMHO, in the end, it may cost the airlines more, but they also pick up more businesses, which very much compensate for their loss.

Definitely! However, being in Canada, I don't have much of a choice anymore for FFP's. Luckily, it's *A that doesn't expire.
