Multiple airlines - not many points??
New to "collecting" points. Have a 'real'
assortmnet. Usually go thru expedia or other for best flight. Fly only pleasure (US,Carr.
Mexico) Any ideas? Can I transfer any to AA?
Normally fly out of MKE or ORD. Here's my
list:
AA (mine) 27,300 US (each) 2341
(hubby) 10,979 Cont. (each) 3616
Delta (mine) 5063
(hubby) 2425

Dear MaryAO:
Forget about DLCrap!!!!!
Their FF program has been totally decimated by some of those execs earning huge bonuses so they "do not pursue other interests."
DL will have your miles expire if you do not fly them in a 3 year period.
I suggest you use your CO OnePass. You will be able to earn miles if you have to fly that hideous DL, plus, you can earn and redeem on CO, NW, KL and AF (on some routes through IAH). CO miles NEVER expire and they will count actual mileage flown towards elite status on all types of fares (not 1/2 like DLCrap on discount fares).
PLUS, CO goes into A LOT of places in Mexico (more than US, DL or AA). Another factor is if you fly DL into Mexico, you run the chance of being stuck in a 3-hour flight in one of those wretched CRJ's. I am sure you have flown in one of them out of MKE.
Concentrate on committing your flying to 1 or 2. You may went to consider using CO and AA. AA is very good for the Caribbean. The only minus with AA to the Caribbean is connecting in MIA. SJU is much better to connect to the islands.
Good lukck!!!

MaryAO: First welcome!
Any means of earning DL miles even once every 3 years will keep your DL accnt active. You do not have to fly. I suggest keeping it active. Even if you don't plan to fly DL you never know if irregular operations will have another carrier reroute you on Dl. If that happens you can usually earn miles on BOTH your original carrier and DL, but you may have to ask.
Now what can you do to get some DL miles into your account? You could send someone flowers. My personal favorite method is found at www.idine.com. Free miles for dining at the right places. And lots of free miles as well. There are tons of ways to earn miles without flying. DL has a page devoted to it found at:
https://www.delta.com/skymiles/getmiles/index.jsp
The changes DL made to the Skymiles program do not affect you unless you are an elite flyer. Unless you have aspirations to fly more than 25,000 miles per year you won't notice what DL did to one of the best elite programs that existed. Then again, you might notice the mass exodus of Medallion members in about six months.
I hope this helps you in your quest. Be careful as this hobby can be very addicting!
