Unfortunately there is no other card available. But you could also go for Amex Membership rewards to get points.

British Airways Mastercard.

BA purchases: 2 miles per .
Other purchases: 1 mile per .

Call +49 (0)40 89 099-844.

For most this is a better deal than the UK BA AmEx card.

There is a new AMEX Gold FT Card in Germany.
You earn 2 Rewards points per Euro (normal Gold Card: 1 point with the classic reward program)

Out of these Rewards Points you can make several airline/hotel - miles/points.

Stay away from Continental. Because of non-existent standard award availability, the miles are worth half of what they actually say. (Unless you want to use them on KLM...)

... not the obvious choice for Germany, IIRC they only offer one flight to Germany (EWR-FRA). Otherwise it's KLM at the moment.

From Continental's website: "Continental Airlines rewards include rewards on
Continental Express,
Continental Micronesia,
Northwest,
Northwest Airlink,
KLM,
Copa,
Alaska,
Horizon,
Gulfstream International,
American Eagle,
CommutAir,
Air Europa,
British European (flyBE.),
Emirates,
Azteca and
Amtrak"
