It seems like Alitalia has a 4000 Welcome bonus if you sign up for MilleMaglia.

A word of caution, Please call Alitalia a few days before your flight to confirm that the flight is still scheduled. They are notorious for canceling flights and not contacting passengers to tell them. A quick phonecall may prevent an unpleasant "surprise" at the airport.

Full Business
I flew them a few times in Y and when you get a front seat in Y you get the biz seats, (everytime I have flown) just not the service. But you can use their lounges though. I think it is MXP with a nice one... Enjoy your flight!

I try and funnel all my miles through one of the major US programs, So Alitalia would be Delta.
On some Alitalia flights, the seats behind first class are first class size but not in price.
Also, If you are a RCC member, you can use the Lufthanssa lounge in MXP.
I'm taking it you aren't the Matt Clement that used to pitch for the San Diego Padres.

One hint if you're flying Alitalia business-class in Europe on an A321: make sure to get either seat A or C - these seats have much more room than D, E or F due to the presence of a vestigial 'middle seat' between them.

So, what happened? How was the flight? Where did you have your miles credited? Why is this thread still in MilesBuzz?

My outbound flight to Milan was delayed by five hours due to weather. Alitalia's handling of the situation was less than stellar -- it took over an hour to get my ticket endorsed over to BA (mental note: don't travel on e-tickets). Slogged over to LGW to catch the direct BA flight. BA flight slightly delayed, but otherwise fine. Had three steaks. See thread on BA board for more details.
Return flight also delayed. No dedicated business check-in at PSA, and I managed to arrive two minutes after a school group of about 50.
Arrived at MXP to hear "Final call for passenger Clement travelling to LHR". Sprinted to gate, just managed to make flight. Wheezing and coughing from a long run ensured that I had the entire row to myself as people tried to protect themselves from SARS.

BA have changed their flight times to PSA, so it looks like I'll be using BA from now on.
