Refinancing-Mortgage Miles

I'm about to refinance for 350,000 and also buy another home I just put a contract on for 500,000.
Any advice on how to 'cream' some FF miles on these BESIDES USING LENDING-TREE. I want to avoid lending-tree if I can use another route to get some FF miles
Thanks in advance

My most recent UNITED statement included a ad for E-LOAN. 1,250 miles oer $10,000 borrowed for a refi or new laon.

www.eloan.com/unitedmar

I want to refi as well, but have read from other posts that the rates for these mileage offers generally are higher, presumably to recoup the costs of the miles.

Please let us, or me, know what you end up with. I have a super jumbo, so my rates are always a little higher than a conventional loan.

Check with the lender to see if they have a low rate/cost guarantee. I just started the refi process with PHH Mortgage (they offer 1250 Amex MR points per $10,000). I had to email them the lowest quote I received in order for them to match it (1/4% less than their original quote).

I am in the process of getting my loan from countrywide.com. They offer good rates with 1250 american miles for every $10000 financed.

I hope that the rates are better than shown on the Countrywide website. They show 5.875% for a conforming 15 year, 0 point loan. Over the past 2 days, I've gotten quotes from banks - not mortgage brokers - at 5.375% and 5.5% for 0 cost loans.

I just locked in 5.0%, 0 pts. with E-trade. I actually inquired via the United MP, Lending Tree website and E-trade was the first to respond. The agent was good about following through. I only wish now I had gone with another FF program!

I did the UA site thing, and I got quotes for a $400K loan. Lending Tree actually came through with 5.875% of a 30 year jumbo - nobody else beat that. I did have to negotiate with them to get the closing fees down but I checked around to make sure it was a decent deal.

BTW, if you use Realtor Services thru UA for buying or selling a home, it's 3,000 miles per $10,000, not just the 1250 miles you get for a refi.

Hi,

I selceted eloan for my refinance because they offered the lowest rate and least fees even better than my existing lender COuntrywide would offer to me as an existing customer. The refinance was smooth, no troubles and they give United miles which is good for me at least as long as United doesn't go away.

My bank quoted me 5.75%, 0 points, low cost fees or perhaps no fees for my super jumbo loan. While tempted by the miles, most of the mileage lenders rates were just slightly higher and I could not justify the additional % for loads of miles ... almost 112,500! Since I want the lowest fixed rate available, I prefer the savings over the miles.

Why not Lending Tree? I would like NWA miles and they seem to have a good program. Any experiences?

When shopping for a mortgage, did you compare rates by using www.bankrate.com? Or did you call around? I'm in the middle of finding our loan right now, so any tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I too am in the midst of the process right now. Countrywide seems to offer near-minimal rates (for CA). A couple of other vendors are an eighth of of a point lower, but I am not too happy with their customer service response (e.g., Intuit).
