Prepare yourself for 0 miles/points. (I hate when this happens.)

It shouldn't take an MIT grad
to realize this convention skirts the thorny issue of how to credit a flight such as LAX-SYD which lands two calendar days after it departs.

What's depressing is when I have met all my goals near the end of the year and have to twiddle my thumbs and wait until 1/1 rolls around so I can start the next chase! Let's go!

And of course your first few statements will highlight the fact that "you have earned 1,000 miles so far this year, you only have 74,000 more miles to earn in order to requalify....."

All of us road warriors should be recognized for traveling at all.
This was a year of inconveniences, new airport rules, bankruptcies, flight reductions, etc, etc.
Those of us who traveled every week had to be quite "flexible" I hope 2003 is smoother sailing.
Good Luck!

Just think Punky, I can update again on the first = 2,000 points in less than 48 hours. Yummy!

Yup, its a shock to the system. Must make a copy of the statement for the year and gaze at it from time to time.
I think I may have actually flown fewer miles this year than last. We had that AS/QF award last year that had us at about 17K miles that didn't count for squat mileage wise but the memories
.
lala
finishing off the year at 7AM on the Sea-PDX shuttle returning at 9AM tomorrow

I'm kicking off the 2003 "Mileage Chase" at 8:36 AM on Jan 1st with a quickie AA AUS-DFW flight to catch the AA's DFW-FRA flight that afternoon. By end of Jan 3rd, I should be about 38,000 to 40,000 miles richer (and about 11,100 Q-miles toward Plat requalification). So I won't have the pleasure of seeing any 0's next year.
Have fun and have a great Happy New Year to everyone
