Phone card

Is the Sam's Club AT&T prepaid card (3.47 cpm) still relatively the best deal for calling from overseas (specifically Seoul and Tokyo) to the US. If I remember correctly they chagre 6 mins for every 1 min of the call from Japan to US and 3:1 for calling Japan from US.

Any other info out there, better deals, etc...?

Check out the card from Nobelcom.com. Some countries have incredible rates, as low as 5 cents a minute from europe (parts of it) back to the states. There is a two minute billing increment, and a 69 cents per week service charge, but for a recent trip to Germany we were paying something like 7 cents a minute, which was a great deal, even with the additional fees.

Details at www.nobelcom.com, or if you want to help a stray dog ot cat with a few pennies of your order, click here

I think the Sam's Club/AT&T card is not the best deal out there, but it has the significant advantage of being a very cheap card for US use and doesn't expire. Usually you can buy a cheaper (pre minute) card in the country you are visiting, but unless you use all of the minutes it's like the prepaid gas option at Alamo car rental.

I use the Sam's card.

Please continue to follow this thread in "Omni". If you also do a search on that board, there have been numerous similar threads in the past that may be useful.
