When u opened ur acct, did u get a printed page stating that you will get the 10 000 miles for opening the acct and 7500 miles for the debit card? I got a printed page like that. Opened my acct Dec 1st. No miles posted yet. Will do so wen I do get them. If not I will call the bank with my printed page. Hope we all get our miles as advertised. Thanks OP! Keflyer |
I originally open an account in 08/13, my 10,000 posted on 08/20, 5,000 post 9/15, 2,500 post on 09/25

For those that feel that the miles haven't posted in a timely fashion...don't forget that Chase may have deposited them in a new account at Continental even though you gave them your correct account information. It happened to my spouse. Easy to fix once you know about it with a call to One Pass.

Thanks! I was planning on opening up an account tomorrow. My account will appreciate the bonus miles, I haven't flown in a while, and the last time I did i never put it my OnePass number and got too lazy to send it in. =\
EDIT: Opened up my account on Thursday and got the coupon code put in, or so my PB said. Hopefully it goes through okay! I even got the CO debit card, so I am expected to get 10,000 for checking account, another 7.500 for debit card and an extra 2,500 for my first purchase for a total of 20,000 miles! I'm also planning on flying to Micronesia next summer, so that and these Chase miles will make a great addition to my mileage bank. |

Keflyer On 11/5/07 I opened the account. 11/12 10,000 miles posted to CO. 12/6 5,000 miles post to CO. 12/26 $25 annual debit card fee posts to Chase I emailed Chase cust service with a copy of the enrollment offer for 17,500 and their response was "You will receive the bonus miles. They are credited 6-8 weeks after the promotion ends." On a side note, make sure you maintain at least $25 in the account until the debit card annual fee posts. I forgot and am now overdrawn. I'm not near a branch to cover the overdraft so I called Chase and was told "because you were advised of the annual fee, Chase is unable to absorb fee even if the card is cancelled today to a non-fee debit card since it has been used and bonus miles awarded". When I opened the account I pointed out the discrepancy in the printed sheet (which said I will receive 10k six-ten weeks after account opening; and eligible for another 5k plus the standard 2,500 mile offering if I elect to receive the Platinum CO debit card) and the offer of 17,500 miles for opening a checking with a "Chase CO Preferred Banking card" for $65 annual fee OR "Chase CO banking card" for $25 annual fee. He told me I could call him directly to change the debit card to a non-CO/non-fee one and he would reverse the $25 fee if I don't get credited with the full 17,500 miles after a few weeks. Thankfully, I just got off the phone with him and he agreed to reverse the fee and change my card as he originally promised. So be sure you maintain at least $25 to cover that fee whenever it posts. |
I decided to finally stop in at a Chase branch while visiting NYC this holiday season, and catch this offer before it expired. Oddly, I went through the opening process with a banker and he never asked me for my OnePass member number. I asked several times, "would you like my OnePass account number", to which he replied no. I even emailed him a few days later, and attached the "Banker Instructions" that come with the web coupon. The instructions clearly instruct to ask for the OnePass number, but his reply was brief, again stating he didn't need it.
Does anyone know if it's possible that somehow Chase could match my name with a Continental OnePass account? I haven't seen the miles yet, but it hasn't been more than 10 days. I'm afraid of getting the "6 to 8 weeks" quote from a drone if I call Chase's 1-800 number soon. If the miles don't show soon, should I contact Continental, or Chase to fix this error? Thanks and cheers for the original find! |
Without your OnePass number they will create an account for you, which they might anyway. You will know when you get a new card in the mail and then you can call OnePass and they will straighten it out. You could try calling and asking for the bank manager or any other rep. If you got the banker's card, try calling a number one off from his extension. In other words if the number is 512-822-0001 try 822-0002.
Good luck, Frenchie Flyer |
"You can also add up to three additional cards for others on your joint checking account and pay no additional annual fees. Plus each new cardholder will receive 2,500 bonus OnePass miles."
I asked this question earlier in the thread but didn't get any responses. Anyone yet figure out how on earth they post miles to the "new cardholder"? Does the new cardholder need to have a Chase account? This is so confusing because if this were true, Chase would need the OnePass number of each cardholder for whom you are asking for additional cards and I don't know if anyone has been asked for this. |

Me: My wife and I opened our accounts with Chase last September using an offer for 17,500 bonus miles, which we haven't received yet. Here's the coupon for the offer and our account numbers. CS rep: Your accounts don't show any type of offer being applied. May I see the coupon for the other person? Me: What? CS: Each coupon comes with a unique coupon code, which we also use as tracking numbers. There should be one coupon code per account opened. Me: Oh, I didn't know that. I just printed out two copies of the online coupon, which we brought with us when we opened our accounts. CS: That's probably why you didn't get the miles. The system caught you trying to use the same coupon code twice and canceled the offer. Me: Can we still get the miles? CS: Do you have the coupon code you originally used? Me: No, the banker who opened our accounts took the coupons (we later found out they've been shredded). I just printed another copy off the website. (We also didn't get a receipt from the banker for this offer) CS: Well, I can put in a research request, but there is no guarantee you'll get anything. |
Darien - have you seen the thread for the new Chase - Continental offer? I think it's actually better - 20,000 miles (10 for opening the account, 10 for direct deposit + get 2500 for the additional cards.)
If you aren't able to rectify the situation with the accounts you opened in September, then I would think it wouldn't count as you having taken advantage of this promotion within a year. If it's not too much hassle, you could close the two accounts and open two new accounts with the new promo. Might actually be easier than getting the old promo. |
Travelini,
Can you provide the link to the 20k + 2,500 miles? I was not familiar with the the offer.

Four observations Darien.
A. On the coupon, the Banker Instructions clearly state #4 that an E-coupon receipt should be provided to you. Just wondering why you weren't provided this by the banker who opened your account. He should have given you one receipt for each account. Banker Instructions: 1) Customers opening a new Chase Free Checking account are eligible for 10,000 OnePass bonus miles. 2) Customer is eligible for an additional 7,500 bonus miles, plus the standard 2,500 mile offering when they elect to receive the Chase Continental Airlines Banking Card or Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Banking Card. 3) To award the bonus, enter the 16 - digit coupon code and the customer's OnePass number into E-coupon and select all rewards that apply. 4) Be sure to provide the printed E-coupon receipt(s) to the customer. B. My banker noticed that I had done the same thing as you i.e. printed out 3 of the same coupon. So while we were in his office I asked him to go on www.flyertalk.com and get the link and print out two new ones with different numbers. I'm wondering if your banker didn't catch it or wasn't paying attention. C.

We're also worried that Chase will come up with another excuse not to give us the miles because we're technically not new customers as we already had checking accounts with them.
As long as you applied for the other two accounts last year you should be fine since we are in a new calendar year now. See the rule #1 below. 1Offer valid Jan. 8 through May 31, 2008. Chase Free CheckingSM requires a $100 minimum opening deposit of new money (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates) to qualify for the first 10,000 bonus miles. Chase Free Checking has no monthly service fee when you have a monthly direct deposit. Direct deposit must be set up within 60 days of account opening to earn miles. Limit one personal checking account-related award/premium per customer, per calendar year. Offer not available on account conversions or in combination with any other offer. D. Finally, I am not sure why your Banker did not give you back the coupon if he had already entered it. He should have given you at least a copy. Did you receive anything at all from him to show that these were Continental accounts? I'm not sure why you waited so long though to go back to them - I would have been chomping at the bit after 2 months if I hadn't got the miles. |
Never understood the 2500 miles thing...

This is so confusing because if this were true, Chase would need the OnePass number of each cardholder for whom you are asking for additional cards and I don't know if anyone has been asked for this. Anyone sucessfully recieved the 2500 additional card bonus miles from the last offer? |
