I'm not worried. All of the Kelloggs-related AA miles awarded in human history probably don't equal the AA miles awarded in one day due to actual travel. Promos like United's SFH bonuses (and the promos AA did to match it) put more bonus miles into the market than Kelloggs could possibly do - even if they built 10 new cereal factories, ran them 24x7x365, and awarded 500 miles for every box that comes off the line.

Yes it's sometimes difficult to redeem awards. But that's just business as usual for FF programs. I give props to AA - I have done award trips to Hawaii and Europe on them in the last year. I got my dates in first/biz class. In my limited experience, AA award availability seems better than UA, US, and DL.

I'm skeptical about why this thread is being spammed across multiple boards.

Just saw this after I posted my reply. Ofcourse paying customer will have first crack at a seat, that's with any airline. Unless I missed something, what's the problem with that?

not true with Southwest. your reward ticket is just as good as cash when redeeming a seat. sometimes even better than cash, because a reward ticket can you you any seat on the plane, where sale / promotional fare is limited.

Since this is primarily related to American miles and the original poster has a parallel thread in the AA forum, I am closing it here.
