I've posted a question in several forums about the quantity of miles needed for an award ticket from Portugal (or European countries without major hubs) to some world key destinations.
It was my purpose to somehow give a contribution to the hard decision on what to choose, American or European FFP:
American Airlines / British Airways
Continental Airlines / KLM
Delta Airlines / Air France
United Airlines / Lufthansa.

Having in consideration:
1 - Always choose best offer (off-peak tickets, flysmart, mini-miles, ...);
2 - Count, for an award ticket, the biggest zone crossed;
3 - Award tickets on partner airlines when that airline doesn't fly from LIS,
4 - Award to use in just one airline.
