JFK-DBV Help needed

I want to go jfk-dbv in late june on either a reward or $+miles ticket (biz, j?) but i dont even know where to start. My head is spinning on where i should fly into and how i should get there. Is it best to fly to lhr and then onto dbv, best to fly into VIE? What airlines are my best bet for using miles ? Any help would be great. Please tell me where to start.

PS-I have SPG points so im looking to xfer from there.

Well, it depends for which companies you can redeem your points.

However, LHR doesn't seem such a good option, since you would need to have an additional transfer in Zagreb (ZAG) or somewhere else in Europe.

If you can get an Austrian Airlines ticket, it might be good to fly to VIE and then directly to DBV. This seems to be a daily route especially in June.

LH / OU fly FRA-DBV, too. OU is a Regional Star Alliance member so you can get this ticket through LH, as well. I think LH / OU have daily services on this route.

And finally, if you prefer flying via FCO, there is a direct OU / AP flight nearly every day to DBV. And you can fly AZ, DL or AA to FCO from JFK.

Hope this helps...

Sorry, don't know about the OS, never used them before.

Yeah, I think the easiest way is to go through M&M - they only use M&M as their FF programme.

Info on *wood transfers here... http://www.starwoodhotels.com/prefer...tner_list.html

What city are you departing from? When we flew to PRG, we flew SQ (Singapore) from JFK to FRA; then connected on LH. Your choices are endless.

For info on Austrian biz class, check the Star Alliance forum on Flyertalk.

I think LH to FRA than Croatia air to DBV is the way to go. All Star Alliance. I tried forever to figure out other ways to get there, but the times dont match up well if youre coming from the US (into a main euro hub). All those euro discounters start in smaller airports that you cant get to from the US. The closest thing might EWR-Cologne, then Cologne-DBV on Hapag Lloyd

thateus, i think thats the way to go also, the issue is that LH seems very hard to get reward tickets.
