OK... dense here... can someone help me understand why the fact that someone spent all night on the Financial Times website (www.ft.com) has ANYTHING to do with Flyertalk?

Just wondering.

OK, now, to return to what I believe the topic is - what's the longest continuous period of time that you have spent on FlyerTalk.com either posting, using the chat tool or researching? Now, it does count that you ate and had a few other distractions but the longest period of a user session on FlyerTalk?

I think my longest is about 1 1/2 hours.

I think I hit two hours reading all the forums one right after the other once...

well "reading" might be too strong a term.

I remember this one easily....

It was September 11th...

I logged on from work right after I heard about the WTC attack... this was the only place for me to get info... I then kept logged in from home.... for the remainder of the evening... finally logging off around 3 am in the morning... so, that would be about 17 hours...

That was the day I found out the real value of this community.

Well, for almost a whole night, I was unable to read discussions of frequent flyer program buzz, and was wondering if I missed any buzz on the programs in the time it was down. Now......leave me alone!

Which, of course, is not what you said at all; to wit:

Gladly.

First, this does not belong on MilesBuzz.

Secondly, Randy, how did you come up with that interpretation of the original post?

Things seem to, IMHO, be going down hill

Interpretation? Well, since many simply refer to FlyerTalk as "FT" I assumed he WAS talking about FlyerTalk and not the Financial Times (ft.com). And then a comment like "Almost a whole night with FlyerTalk" (edited for spelling and FT inrerpretation) I immediately thought he might have pulled an all-nighter on FlyerTalk just clicking around on threads, perhaps even visiting the archives and maybe even spending some time in chat (others have been known to do that as well). With the idea he might have stayed up all night on FlyerTalk, the next comment about the shakes seemed only a funny verb for perhaps his physical state of spending so much time on FlyerTalk.

As for being on MilesBuzz! - it might have been better in Community. If I had thought for an instance he was referring to not being able to log on, then surely that post would have been appropriate to Technical Issues forum.

As far as seeing things going downhill - i guess it all depends if you are either at the bottom of the hill already and looking up, or at the top of the hill looking down. Of the approximately 15,000 posts on FlyerTalk this week, my guess is that this one thread is likely not a true indicator of moving up or down any hill.

Speaking of hills - I'm so envious of all the almost 100 FlyerTalkers assending on Chicago this weekend for the comicwoman event. What an event that surely will be.
