Award Travel Agents
I remember there being some link/company associated with Flyertalk that did award reservations for you. However, I can't find it anymore. Anyone know what it is and if it still exists? I just spent an hour talking to some agent. She was really helpful but still they take forever.
I'd REALLY like it if I could say send an e-mail that said, I want you to check availability on AA, United, Delta, KLM, US Air for flights to LON from SFO or SJC on days xxx, early morning preferred, etc. If no availability, check these days, etc.
Give me all options and miles required. I'd DEFINITELY pay for this kind of service.
I heard AMEX Platnium/Centurion and DINER'S Club have some sort of assistant that does this kind of thing. Any comments on the service of these things?
Let's see I spend 2-5 minutes on hold (BA is like 10 minutes last time, AC forget about it...) then 20-30 minutes talking to some agent who checks about a million routings. It's so worth it if someone else can do it for you and do it right!!!

You're probably thinking of AwardPlanner (www.awardplanner.com). I signed up but haven't yet had time to send them my ticket requests; I'll post how it goes when I do. Others have had some experience with them though; see the following:
