Cashback Cards
I know this isnt really a "miles" question, but from what I can see, most people here are well versed in this topic.
Can somebody recommend a good cash-back visa/MC card? Here are my criteria:
- Monthly or quarterly cashback (The Amex cashback seems to give a yearly refund... somebody please correct me if I have misunderstood).
- A low % on foreign currency charges
- no limit/maximum on the cashback
One additional question: Does anybody know of any limits in terms of "loading" a card with cash? Our situation is that many of our vendors take Visa/MC/Amex. We can spend $50k per month with one vendor. Of course, no Visa will have a $50k limit. So we would pay $50k onto the visa and then ask the vendor to charge the visa. Would that work OK with a cashback card?
Basically, I have so many points (Membership Rewards, Starpoints, Delta, etc) already that I'm looking for ways now just to get cash instead of points. Let's face it, at the end of the day cash is the most flexible type of "points" out there...
Thanks
Ron

Ron, you have elegantly defined a major FF delima! Thank you!
From time to time, I give up on miles credit cards in favor of cash back. Then I get a yen to take a personal trip to the ends of the earth and start hoarding miles again.
The other day I shopped at Sam's and felt really guilty that I could only use my cash back Discover card when I could have gone to COSCO and used Am Ex for Delta miles.
Do I need a mental health care professional?
You are entirely correct that cash is more useful than miles, but cash disappears in the household budget. I feel that miles are MINE!
I want to have one million AA miles by 2005 my 20 year anniversary on that program.
Whenever I think I'm tired of playing the game, I see a bunch of miles drop in to my account and the fire starts to burn again.

As you indicated this is not a MilesBuzz topic, so I have recreated it in Omni at this URL:
