Transferring Diners Club points to miles

Transferring Diners Club points to miles
I'm new to the FF set so I apologize if this goes over familiar territory.
I'm a consultant and have begun to travel more frequently for a new job. At my previous job the firm provided a corporate Diners Club card. I had accumulated approx. 36,000 points on the Diners and now wish to transfer those points to a different plan.
I've accumulated some miles on both Delta and AA but not enough for status. I'm leaning toward transferring to Delta as their top tier status seems easier to attain.
Is there anything that I should be considering?

The British Airways promotion is attractive because of the 50% bonus, and because BA and AA are partners in the OneWorld alliance you can redeem BA miles for travel on AA (except for USA/UK transatlantic flights) even if you have no plans to visit the UK.

I saw the BA promotion as well but I wasn't sure whether the extra miles were worth sacrificing an elite status with Delta or even AA. Was I right to assume that the BA miles would not go toward status with AA?

Exactly. Almost.
First, you'll need to comprehend between STATUS miles and BANKED miles ~ each carrier has different trademark names for 'em, but in the end, it's "Butt-In-Seat" -vs- "Award".
Your Diners Club points would convert to "award" miles ~ suitable for 'spending' on tix.
Status is achieved by (with a very short list of infrequent, special exceptions) .. ummmm .. sitting.
