Is there a Website or program to read airfare rules (booking class)

Hey all,

Just wondering if anybody knows a website or program that allows you to look at current airfare fair rules. I want to do some research for trip options i've got coming up and want to make sure i'm in booking classes that allow upgrades (with points) and earn 100% on various *A airlines.

Is there a website or program that allows this?

Cheers,

Kael

I am not familiar with one. I mean, you can get a list of fares on a site like Expedia and read the rules on each fare there. That's about the closest that I can think of.

If you want fare construction restrictions, penalties, routing rules, etc., you should look up for fare rules. You can use paid subscription service like expertflyer or KVS availability tool, or use itasoftware. If you want to know eligibility of upgrade, then you will have to look fare class and upgrade rule to your specific FFP. You will generally not find this on fare rules.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I just want to sift thru various airfares and be able to check their booking class's and restrictions. I'm aware of what my FF program allows me to upgrade and earn points on, thats why I would like to check the booking classes.

I could go to the travel agent and ask them to print me out the fare rules for all these airfares, I just thought maybe there was another way.

Whats this KVS tool? I've heard of that for checking availability. Didn't know it could do fare rules or booking classes as well tho?

Anybody else?

Cheers,
Kael

http://matrix.itasoftware.com

If you disable "check availability", you'll get all existing fares.

Kael O, this will sound like a lot of work but what I have done in the past is visit the airlines' websites and read the terms and conditions for my booking classes from there. Again, it's time consuming but it's also very accurate. I've also done some dummy bookings to get a price vs fare class comparison per airline and destination.
