Where would you put the miles?

I'm considering buying a Marriott travel package, which comes with 120K airline miles. My interest in miles is for premium international travel (two people). I also have no problem with buying "B" tickets (or the equivalent) and upgrading with miles. My home airport is BUF, but getting to YYZ, JFK, BOS, BWI, or IAD is not a dealbreaker.

I've narrowed the decision down to AA or BA. If I act soon, I think I can still get a 25% bonus on AA, or a 30% bonus with BA.

Currently have 175K in AA, will have 150K-175K in BA (depending on when the cc bonuses come in )

Both airlines seem to have reasonably good award availability.

Additional consideration: I can convert some portion of AA miles into Hilton points 1:2, and that would help pay for the hotel at wherever it is I'm going.

I think I can use the miles on either airline (except across the Atlantic).

So ... I was wondering what the real gurus out there would choose.

know nothing about BA, but AA lets you hv open jaw, stopover, etc

on your Int'l award tickets. Personally I think the "fringe" benefits other than just the seat, on AA awards cannot be beat - the open jaw and stopover can easily make your one trip into 2 or even 3. I am not too sure about whether 1 stopover or 2 stopovers are allowed on Int'l award.

Even the domestic award you can easily turn a plain jane 25K to worth over $1000 with the openjaw and stopover at the height of summer travel to hot locations such as ANC & JAC.

I dont know if BA let you do such or not.
