Using miles/points for Financial Times subscription?
Okay, here's a toughie ... I'm trying to figure out how to get FT w/o using cash. Even at the student rate, $99/year is just not in my budget. Frankly, as busy as I am I often don't get around to reading it every day. (Then again, on school breaks I'll read it cover to cover.) Still, I've done the CBA on it: The price of two newstand copies per week over a year costs more than a subscription.
I'm pretty sure UA or CO once offered FT on a quarterly basis for ~1,800 miles. That offer appears to have dried up.
My order of preference is to use:
So, fellow miles 'n points junkies, can ya help a girl out?
Anticipating some suggestions:
Yes, I've checked gleff's and pgary's sites.
Yes, I check the various free stuff forums (fatwallet, slickedeals, etc.) from time to time.
No, I'm not trying to subscribe to *get* miles or points, ala the Hilton offer -- other way around.

My order of preference is to use:
- orphan miles in any FF program other than UA or DL;
- orphan points in any FS program other than Hilton;
- exchange orphans miles through points.com or some other mechanism;
- (last resort) miles or points from UA, DL or HHonors.

I don't suppose you have American Express Membership Rewards points? Last time I checked it was 3,000 points for a year -- not a bad deal.
If my subscription wasn't almost up I'd transfer it to you. Rarely does it get to my building before I leave for work, and we have plenty of copies there anyway.

essxjay- Is Financial Times even available via any airlines' magazines for miles program right now? I just looked w/ AA, DL, NW.
I know mpmvp.com has some titles (like S.I., Conde Nast, and Organic Style) that aren't always available. Is FTimes like that too?
