New Business Guide

As some of you might know I’m working as the PR-Manager for the Bonn touristic & marketing company (Tourismus & Congress GmbH Bonn / Rhein-Sieg / Ahrweiler). One of my current projects is to develop the (so called) „Business Guide“ for Bonn (airport CGN!). This brochure will be a short touristic guide for business people as well as convention and conference visitors (we have a lot of international events in Bonn). My idea was to ask some people with lot of experience in business travel all over the world about their expectations in something like this kind of guide.

The „Business Guide“ will contain short informations about these topics: recreation, dining, shopping, sports, souvenirs, culture (tickets), public transfer, sights & museums, needdful adresses and a city map. We want to avoid to get one of those commercial packed, colourful and needless little brochures that we all know (mostly lying in hotel rooms). What we want to do, is to give a real profit to those visitors, who have one thing in common: less time. This guide will give a good choice of what Bonn is all about (not being a copy of yellow pages!). The guide will be for free, distributed by hotels, airport, tourist information and PCOs. Each participating restaurant, bar, shop, rental car company or whatever has to provide a benefit for the guide holder. Benefits range from a free cappucino in the largest book store to some (usual) give-aways. BUT WE ARE STILL WORKING ON IT!

So I’d like to ask YOU, as part of the target group, what you would expect from a product like this „Business Guide“? What kind of benefits would you prefer (gift vouchers, free drinks, some extra service or miles...)? Do you have any experiences or examples from other cities? Any advices or criticism?

I would be very glad to get some response & maybe our product becomes a bit more customerlike...

Thanks

Thomas

Particularly in Germany it is helpful to know where the international ATM machines are--they are not nearly so evident as they are in other countries.
