flight canceled, need reschedule help ASAP
I've searched with no success, but I have a buddy who just had a flight scheduled over Christmas get canceled. They are offering different times the same day but he's not sure what he wants to do.
I thought I read here once that if your flight gets changed at all that a full refund can be asked for. If that the case here? The flight is scheduled on TWA. Also I thought I remembered hearing a Rule #. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Yes, you are referring to rule 240. Rule 240 indicates the terms by which a pax who is involuntarily rerouted is to be accommodated.
Usually you can receive a full refund due to a schedule change. Perhaps if the res agent your friend talks too does not know, he/she should call back and get someone else. Do they really want a refund, or what?
Sometimes with a sched change they will allow you to make flight time changes with no fee also.

All those rules about sat night, no refund, etc go out the window when the "contract" is broken. You (your friend) had a contrac to fly from A to B on a certain date at a certain time. The airline says we are no longer able to do that. Either take an alternate or here is your money back.
Your friend has to decide what do to. But, being December, what the ASAP?

thanks guys...the ASAP was because he was told otherwise and I am afraid if he changes his plans instead of taking the money he won't be able to get it back...I know it seems far off, but I didn't want him to get screwed. thanks for the quick replies
