Refunds running at 50%
I heard someone say at a city ticket office (CTO)say that refunds were running 50%.
It seems that there are lots of flyers who want to take a rest for a while.

Not necessarily.
I had a September 13th trip that I got refunded simply because that outcome was certain, and all of the other rules looked like they might be in flux.
All my September travel was already booked, and I wasn't 100% sure of my October dates, so I refunded and just bought new tickets.
However, having flown Wednesday night, it is entirely possible that everyone's taking a rest. It was very sad to see near-empty airports and near-empty planes.

I agree with you, Robb. You could have driven a semi through the concourses at O'Hare this past Tuesday. For those out there holding back, here's hoping you'll be able to see your way clear to re-think that position soon.

Tomorrow I will hop on my first flight since the awful day...never thought about cancelling. Off to a conference in San Diego. (I did re-do my connection to avoid a needless change of planes that would have involved a NW to AA switch. No need to mess with that these days. Don't need miles that bad.)
Hey Dan...keep the faith, man.

I take my first post-hijacking flight on Tuesday. The thought of cancelling never crossed my mind. To be fearful is to give in to the terrorist.
