Int'l carriers affected by new rules?

Are the international carriers following the same restrictions as US carriers?

1. Are they limiting carry-ons?

2. Are they giving passengers metal knives and bottle openers?

Love to know!

I know that LH is limiting carry-ons to one piece/person.

Yes International carriers are following ne wrules but:

1. In the UK you could only ever enter a secure area if you were a passenger with a boarding pass.

2. Security questions have been in place for luggage and personal items on domestic flights as well as international for some years now.

The problem may well have been that within the industry the perceived threat was to International flights rather than domestic.

Be honest - Did anyone really think that the events of last week were likely to happen?

The short answer is yes, international carriers have had these restrictions for years.

BA recently allowed biz passengers to take two carry-ons. I guess this is now suspended.

Since last week, we can no longer take knitting needles or nail clippers in our hand baggage.

A couple of low price airlines (easyJet from UK and Ryanair from Ireland) announced that all hand baggage was banned. What doesn't go on you goes in the hold.

It seems that ladies' handbags (= purses in the US) are OK. Now what about my handbag, please?
