We stayed two nights at the Comfort Suites in
San Antonio. Although some distance from all the party action at the Alamo, decent rooms (Bigger than many NYC apartment) with kitchen. Though check-in was slow and even though I request non-smoking rooms it seemed to take an effort to find those rooms.

The funniest thing about this stay: being in a pool and a jacuzzi (sp?) with some Purdue
Fans and two canadians on extended business related trip on 12-30!

Interesting that early in morning, desk clerk
leaves to buy milk and leaves hotel unattended. I could have staged a coup and renamed the hotel "THE CATMAN INN!"

Other Comfort hotel: At College Station. Standard, Holiday inn type room. No frills.
Nice they offered breakfast. Decent bargain and glad I booked that after my experience with FairField INN by Marriott across the street (read Marriott posting for details!)

I got the application for their frequent guest program but really don't have a desire to join. I'm with six programs already (going to four with Westin and Sheraton becoming Starwood) so I have enough membership #'s to remember! CATMAN

If you already have too many hotel memberships, why would you like Embassy Suites to start a frequent stayer program?

I would not want Embassy to start a program just for me. I figured that there are travelers who like staying at Embassy and would like the option of earning free stays and miles.

With Westin and Sheraton merging, that cuts the programs by one. I use Hyatt and Holiday sporatically so I MAY join Embassy (though I prefer Hilton and Marriott.) CATMAN

Have to tell you my Comfort Inn "sex room" story!!! Had to fly to Durham, NC on very short notice - it was the ultimate upgrade trip for a novice like me. I get upgraded to first class b/c of my Y class ticket, the only company available for a car was Alamo (which I never use) but they had to upgrade me to an SUV b/c they were out of cars (I almost killed myself - those things are huge!!), get to the Comfort Inn in Durham at about 11:30 p.m. and they tell me they're overbooked........so they'll have to upgrade me to a suite. A suite in a Comfort Inn? Very oxymoronish - sort of like a republican think-tank - but anyway - I walk into a very nice suite - living room with wet bar and tv and the bedroom has a huge bed with a HUGE mirror covering the entire ceiling!!!!!! The bathroom had a sunken jacuzzi tub surrounded by mirrors on three sides - so unbelievable!!!!!! No one believes me!!!!! Got upgraded to first class again on the way home, used the TWA club in St. Louis and got home to Illinois a very happy camper!!! Too bad I was in N.C. on business and alone!!

If you think NO ONE will believe you about where you stay, I take pictures of the room and the view. That way there are NO Questions.

No one believed that I stayed on the top floor of the FLamingo HIlton, Las Vegas so I took Pixs of the door, the view (excellent of a good chunk of the strip) and the size of the room (very big!) I feel like Bugsy Siegel staying there.

But that's just a few people who Don't believe me. My true Friends always do.

But I hope you enjoyed your First Class experience EMD!!! CATMAN
