tracking my miles
till late, www.biz.com/ kept me on-line informed about my accounts (UA, Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, unfortunately not (yet) SR, LH and Hyatt) and I didn't need to log-in at each individual account. Since about a fortnight, biz-miles-information on UA-miles is more than one week late (behind the UA-update on their homepage). What are your experiences for tracking your miles?

my marriott, hilton, twa, and delta accounts update fairly quickly. but as you have found out also, the united account is consistantly slow to show new activity.

My United account has been slow. Even slower
my AA and the "new" website (it takes about
2-3 weeks to get that up to date.) Also
Westin has a tendency to be slow with putting
the latest information in, but they have
nicely apologized when I asked.
To keep track of my miles (with my short term
memory) I have in my computer software MAXMILES (which I think Randy recommends.)
I put the information into each of the airline and hotel accounts immediately when it happens and then just check it off when
I get the printed statement.
Maxmiles might be worth a try. It's like
TurboTax and other budget like programs.

Catman you are absolutely correct. Randy does recommend MaxMiles. They have a new program called MileageMiner that will report all of your balances in a timely manner. What a concept!
You can check them out at maxmiles.com

I think there is no Macintosh-version (yet) of MaxMiles. And as I am (still) a Mac-addict I unfortunately can't use MaxMiles.

First, MaxMiles just released a new version of its software which includes the ability to download your frequent flyer accounts. More importantly, MaxMiles is launching a comprehensive online mileage management service, MileageMiner(tm) later this week. Not only is your account information updated daily, but it includes some pretty neat functionality such as checks for missing flights and a customized list of mileage offers tailored to your programs and status level.
I'd be interested in getting feedback if/when you take a look at it.

I also subscribe to BizMiles and like its
travel features (second to Inside Flyer) and
also have the account monitoring system.
It was free.. you can't beat that.
My United account is about a few days behind,
but that's ok. Could not access my Delta
SkyMiles account -- a note said it will be sometime before it's available.
AA account -- pretty updated... as well as the hotel programs.
It's a good program, but I like MaxMiles which allows the keen to details side to me
to keep everything up to date.

Rudi... I would write MaxMiles directly
and ask them if they have a Mac compatable
program. I believe their address is:
Would be surprised if they don't. Can't wait
to get my new upgrade program.
Good Luck! Catman

In PC-based software, MaxMiles is only for WIN95 or NT. However, assuming you can access the Internet, the MaxMiles MileageMiner online service can manage all your accounts for you. Check it out at www.maxmiles.com (launching 7/15). It makes BizMiles look like it is in the dark ages.

till now the MaxMiles technical information reads: Windows 3.1, Windows NT4.0, or Windows 95, Memory Required: 4M RAM and 6M Free Hard Drive Space, Minimum Processor Speed: 486, (Sorry, no Macintosh version available.)
This is the first-time I regret to be a Mac-fan. I hope the coming on-line-version helps. Thank You.

mjamison ~ BizMiles may be in the dark ages, but it is free ...
I've tried the new MileageMiner, and after signing up on Wednesday afternoon, I have yet to see anything on the site. I've tried to sign in a few times today and nothing happens.
They're offering a three month trial membership, so I'll give it a try, but I'm not sure this is worth even $2.95/month based on what they've shown on their website.

The NW website updates mileage instantly. I know this because I happen to be on the phone with a customer service agent who added an adjustment to my account. I then went to the website to check less than a minute later and saw the adjustment included in my total.

I just registered at Mileage Miner. And with grat interest I will look at the first summary somewhere tomorrow. Unfortunately it doesn't cover (yet?) the Qualiflyer-programm (which for me, beeing Switzerland-based, is about 40% of my miles).
I wonder if their system is so sophisticated that it will include exclusive-offers for European-based-members (for example UA-Mileage-Bonuses for flights FRA-USA etc).
