I stand corrected Rudi. I did not know you publish all your tips both places, as I can not enter Moremiles... Perhaps you could convince your "friends" to open their closed board to match your convictions?

Tvl4Free,
You have been so helpful and supportive of so many of us either with personal issues, or with travel arrangements that I would personally find it difficult to deal with anyone that castigates you.

Obviously, you have found something which you feel might help other FTers with a mileage run and need to know the feelings on the board from your fellow FTers on whether it should be shared openly (thus opening it up to be shut down by the particular airline involved), or if it should be kept quiet and circulated only among those you know and trust. Per usual on the boards lately there is more dissension than normal. Might this go along with the thread by Kokonutz dealing with "the list"?

Whatever you decide, it is your decision, and I hope all of these folks will go along.

For those of you that don't think the airlines, among others are watching these, and other, boards may I invite you to peruse the following website, and contact people who have been affected by corporate lurkers.

Very good point summerdawn! Tvl4free has been a real benifit to FT..why would people even doubt him ? To a cigar type of poster...pleese be a tad more gentle...This board is ours and I know you mean well. you all have helped me during the past years..let's lighten up! Thanks for the input Rudi..I need to make that trip to see you and your lovely wife....Thanks everybody for responding in such a difficult FT query. Tvl4free , keep up the fine posts and we appreciate your concerns.

Not that this is a cost effective way to do it considering fuel surcharges, fees, taxes, etc....but has anyone seen a one way base fare of less than $9.30 in the US in a long time? Check it out. BTV-PLB on COX.

Breakdown:

Fare 1 9.30
Fuel Surch 1 18.60
US Tax 2.10
Fare 2 9.30
Fuel Surch 2 18.60
US Tax 2.10
Seg Tax 5.50
PFC 6.00
TOTAL 71.50

What a way to mess up a $18.60 RT fare!

The only complaint I have about either the posting or non-posting is the nomenclature. A US BAHT RUN Equivalent, is, to my eyes, a BAHT RUN styled milage run on US, as in US Air. Not a UA mega-segment run done in the United States. Perhaps there is a US vs USA abbreviation I am missing?

T4F,

Ok buddy. This thread is starting to get a little long.

We are patiently awaiting your decision.

Please post a response one way or the other.
The last thing I (we) want to see is to have this post get out of control...if you know what I mean.

Thanks,
Dan

This is off topic but I just have to point out that 2 posts on this thread early on were not made by myself. A friend of mine was over on Sunday and my computer was left on Flyer Talk. This was the last thread I was reading. He thinks I am obsessed with this site and likes to cause controversy.

So he posted gibberish under my name. I want to apologize and just say that I was misrepresented. I have since edited the posts.

I have made my decision - albeit under pressure to do so RIGHT NOW from a friend. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The following contributing factors have influenced my decision:

1. The first sentence of my original post.
2. I could not move beyond the powerful and compelling arguments presented by Mr. Ken hAAmer.
3. The suggestive evidence presented by letiole in her historical perspective - raised a bright red flag warranting caution - and could not be taken lightly.

and

4. There's the issue of my needing a few more runs for myself - before I freely offer my proposal to Kroll and Associates. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Therefore, I will not post THIS plan.

The best solution I've found for our group can be found one Page 1 in letiole's very first post.

Rest assured and have no doubt, my friends, we're gonna talk in San Diego! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

BTW, thanks for all the e-mail!

tlv4free-

glad you had enough feedback on both sides to assist you with a decision. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' decision here, contrary to some flack that you'll likely get.

With the success of FT (guys like you) comes the excess (corportate lurkers). The true integrity of this site IMHO is not the ACCESS
to ideas but the ABILITY to act on them.

Hope my post (somewhere on p 3) reinforces your rationale and decision.

If you do not post, you lose your credibility. Senior member comments will carry a lot of weight! and in true FT spirit, they are voting "yes" for the post.

If you do post, it has to measure up to all this hype. If it does not, you lose your credibility again.

It better be real good because anything less than that would burn your hands.

Expected decision....

Your call, but more fuel for the fire for the cliqueness of Flyertalk. Only if you attend the meetings can you hear the 'real' juicy details -- even if that's the first flyertalk meeting you attend and you never post to the bulletin board or provide anything else valuable to the bulletin board.

Thanks for your help tvl4free in one of my previous last minute trips, but I am disappointed in you. Hopefully those in San Diego will benefit from your decision.
