CyberRebate Checks!!
Since CyberRebate just filed for Chapter 11 today, I thought I would let everyone know of an experience I had with ValueAmerica (who also filed last year). I received a rebate check for them, and basically the same time they filed, I deposited it. Next thing I know the bank sends me the check back, AND charges me for depositing a bad check.
So beware!! If you have or receive a check from CyberRebate and you go to the bank with it, it will probably bounce and will cost you more.
I ended up sending in a claim to the bankruptcy court, including the bank charge. Still nothing, and even if I get something, I doubt it will be much more than a few cents on the dollar.
