It is over..there is no Hilton in Barbados..I stayed at one the night before they tore the old one down in 1998! And I am aware where this thread belongs..just wanted to set the record straight!

It seems that they have quite a number of problems, loopholes, etc. that cause quite a few undesirable results to their rewards program. On the other hand, I'm a bit disappointed that the FT community gleefully exploits every such loophole/glitch where it benefits the customer (double/triple Conquests, $0 rates, booking cheap stays in cities where you know you won't go, etc.).
IMHO, there seems to be a very high level of sloppiness (some of it very intentional) throughout the travel industry. The problem is not just Hilton - they just happened to have been caught recently. United was also embarrassingly exposed recently with the $22 fares. Most of the time frequent flyers and other travelers are the victims of this sloppiness - being stuck in airports, trapped in airplanes, and forced to pay hotel and car rental charges they never expected, etc. So, although I am not condoning the actions of frequent flyers I wouldn't be so hard on those who seek to get back at the travel industry by exploiting their mistakes.

Perhaps we should all e-mail our posts to Djlawman and he can sort them all and direct them to their proper forum.

Well Beantown, if you believe yourself to be incapable of understanding the forum categories and descriptions (i.e., Buzz is "Discussion of the latest FREQUENT FLYER buzz", whereas General Travel is "Discussion of everything BUT frequent travel programs") and thereby incapable of posting in the appropriate category, I would be happy to assist you. Fortunately, I think most FlyerTalkers are intelligent enough to comprehend these categories (which were established by our hosts, not by me) and keep things organized for everyone's benefit.

Oh oh oh, its back on again, did I miss anything?

Ok, odds are set,

2:1 Djlawman doesn't give up till the biter end
3:1 Beantownflyer won't give up without a fight either
5:1 that Orangejjr wakes up
2:1 that Oz jumps in with another handle
5:1 that he argues with himself
1.5:1 that he agrees with himself
1.5:1 that others accuse him of using a fake name even if he doesn't
10:1 Sandiego1k gets 1/10 of my good humor
3:1 Drewman breaks out the pulpit
and even money that Chexfan can't do the math to figure out the odds (not always the sharpest knife in the drawer )

Did I miss anything?

Ok, odds are set, who wants a piece of the action?

Ding Ding...

Hey, I'm an idiot, I'm allowed to spell bad. It's like being an artist and having a licence that lets you do crazy things and blame it on your artistic licence. My licence is almost as good, just doesn't have the same pretty pictures on it as the artists do.

Biter, bitter It so close...

So, if I bet money on myself, how much would I win?

You don't give up do you OZ?

How about even odds that you will again quote something from your United employee Electronic Upgrade Manual?

Or that you will again post on here that someone is doing something wrong on eBay?

I don't post here much, due to the "experts" such as the anal wienies who are playing their little children's game here. You two boys are wasting valuable space.

BTW here is http://www.hilton.com/hotels/BGIHITW/index.html
