march-25 Summertime
march-25 Summertime clocks in (most of) Europe will be advanced by 1 hour (again). we 'loose' the hour between 2AM and 3AM.
will I loose the same hour of sleep (Sat/Sund-night) after the Catman-Do-III in New York?

Rudi: In 2001, daylight time begins on April 1 and ends on October 28.

Rudi and dgolds are both correct. In most of Europe it is on March 25th, and in the U.S. it is April 1st.

Thanks for the info Rudi. I knew Europe was always a week apart from the States but I did not realize it is the week prior. It is good information to have.

I was reading this week of a suggestion in California to deal with their energy crisis by seeking Federal Government approval (required by Uniform Time Act of 1966) to implement Double Daylight Savings Time in the Pacific Time Zone states as of May 1.
By adding an additional hour of daylight, the report projected a 1% to 2% energy savings could be achieved.
I don't know how serious the suggestion was or if there's any official state government support for the concept. It would certainly cause confusion with airline schedules.

Discussion of the latest frequent flyer buzz...
Lieber Oliver - einige (die meisten) meiner amerikanischen Frequent-Flier Kollegen haben/hatten keine Ahnung, dass wir in Europa schon diesen Sonntag die Sommerzeit einfhren.
I believe it is usefull informations for frequent fliers, that European airline schedules (and flights to/from Europe) change this coming Sunday already. Isn't this really latest frequent flyer buzz?
