Thanks for posting, Toxa.
Unfortunately, an innocuous post has been turned into the type of thread that has driven some good people away from FlyerTalk.
It seems the Buzz is turning into the Gong Show with authoritarian dictators instead of funny celebrities. Bring back Jamie Farr! Or Catman, PremEx, JonToner, etc.

I think it is a very important topic for either AA forum or the General Travel forum.
I can see that it is not a best fit in The Buzz (just as unfit as the super majority of topics here).
As a traveller interested in global economy it does interest me that some key corporate house has decided against AA for specific incidents (even if it is an isolated one). For example, if the head of Oracle, Home Depot, Wal Mart or someone were to publicly share such an experience and instruct their companies to take away travel from AA, I would like to know.
Toxa, thank you for taking the time to post it here. As a loyal AA EXP, I will continue to fly AA but will also keep in mind that these type of incidents do happen and hope that the airline uses its training to highlight the cost of such incidents to its gate agents and all employees. In general AA as a company has been quick to rectify wrongs. I hope they do so here as well.

To be fair, we only know one side of this story reported in the country where the deceased had a great deal of power.
For all we know, the sons could have been extremely rude and arrogant demanding passage on a plane they had no right to be on.
For all we know, the sons could have been kind and understanding and the gate agent could have been extremely rude and arrogant.
So, a business changes its travel arrangments completely based on what it was told by two people that we readers know nothing about.
It happens every day. It does not automatically make AA the bad guy.

!Noted I should post similar things to Gen Trav Talk, but I hope that after 2 situations in one week (see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum71/HTML/002739.html), AA and other airlines will better handle this matter.
Good time to end this thread!

No airline institutionally cares. Your experience is randomly based on your treatment by the individuals you encounter.
