Miles for car insurance?

Anyone know of any current mile/hotel point deals for applying for or buying auto insurance?

Given how big of an expense car insurance is, I'd suggest your best bet would be to try out some of those comparison engines and see who's got the best rates and terms, then see if you can also get miles from that company. Otherwise you could be getting some very expensive "free" miles.

Closest I've found is insurance co.s that accept credit cards--in my cases, Visa & MC only. So I use my HHonors Visa.

I'm definitely comparing quotes. I just applied on one of those comparison sites and should have an answer back within two days. I will take the best offer, but figured if there's a way to take the best offer AND get miles, I might as well do that.

In Illinois, State Farm accepts MC/VISA for auto and property insurance premiums; might work in other states also.

I always pay my esurance bill with my mileage plus visa. Had a claim earlier this year and have been very satisfied with their service thus far.

Aig

They don't mention it on the bill they send you, but if you sign up online, you can pay your AIG car insurance bill with a credit card.

If you have car or other insurance through AmEx, you can pay for it with your Amex card, getting MR, *wood, DL points, etc. There may have been an initial bonus promotion, but I don't recall precisely. Of the 2 or 3 I checked, AmEx had the best rates.

Progressive (California) = VISA/MC (no AMEX)
Progressive (Texas) = VISA/MC (no AMEX)

Right on! I use my NWA US Bank Visa to pay my annual insurance bill. I gross about 1100 miles per year. Not a whole lot but better than nothing. ^

My home insurance was due this month. After reading this thread, decided to ask, and paid my State Farm insurance with my UA credit card.

Thumbs up IA State Farm

In Iowa, State Farm Insurance takes MC/Visa (at least the ones I have dealt with in Newton, Dubuque, and Iowa City).
