Twa Cancelled flight

Have two family members traveling from EWR thru STL to OGG on Amex points. Yesterday jan 20th they called to reconfirm> advised early am flight form EWR was canceled. They were able to get on jan 20th and then need to stay in STL until Noon depature. Spend large block of Amex points for two first class seats: Do they ahve a right to expect TWA to do something since they neither called or attempted to do anyhting at the airport yesterday . Please advise they are in STL now

Was the flight canceled due to weather? Mechanical? Bad mood? Airlines have been cancelling lots of flights in the Northeast this weekend due to bad weather, and you should be happy that they reaccomodated them on another flight.

TWA has had one of the absolute best on-time and non-cancellation records. Hopefully they can relax in the Admiral's Club or if they have a long layover go to town and see the arch.

p.s. As you probably know those tickets would have cost about $5,000 on the open market. So you did just fine with your MR points.

I can't excuse TWA's failure to notify the travelers, but EWR did have dreadful weather on Jan. 20 -- heavy rains followed by an ice storm followed by several inches of snow.

there were advisories on the FAA traffic site about delays for weather at EWR yesterday, this is probably why they cancelled.
