Frequenta Ride is Over
I tried today to request a transfer of Frecuenta miles to Hilton points (a couple of times through a couple of different e-mail addresses), but could not get anywhere. I think the dream is dead. Here is a copy of the e-mail I got back from Frequenta.
>> Thank you for your inquiry into Frecuenta/Hilton Honors transfers.
> Unfortunately, enrollment, bonus miles, and other points earned from other
> than acutal flights are not eligible for transfer to Hilton Honors.
>
The transfer program between Mexicana Airlines and Hilton Honors
was/is set up to benefit actual Mexicana
frequent flyers. It it also noted in both Mexicana and Hilton program
guidelines that each reserve the right
to modify the program at any time.
> Only miles earned for Mexicana flights are eligible for transfers. Please

Winstoda and JayBrian I am guesing that when you say that your points just posted that you actually e-mailed in your request back sometime in mid December. Correct?
My bad luck came when I just tried to e-mail my request to Mexicana today on 1/3/01.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT!
My miles posted too!!!
I got an e-mail saying it would take 4 weeks, but since they never took any miles out of my Frequenta account, I figured they caught up with me! (I assumed the points would have been deducted, and then the 4 week delay). Well, as soon as the Frequenta system comes up this morning, I'll check to see if they are still in there (they were yesterday)

I signed up online for a Frecuenta account and then never heard from them again. I was already to get the phone card and every thing else lined up. Since I obvisiouly don't exist, are there any new member sign up opportunities?

I don't know if this is much consolation, but if you still have your signup miles and didn't get a chance to transfer them to Hilton, it appears that you can order a Hard Rock Cafe gift certificate for use in Mexico only. I don't know what the note at the bottom means - "Notes: Only flights on Mexicana/Mexicana Inter routes will be counted for Award Certificates as from July 15, 1997". Anyway, it may be worth a try:
