I signed up a week ago, under the AA plan.

No deposit needed if your credit checks out.

My price was .0915/kwh + $4.79/month.

I signed up this morning - regular plan for .0876/kwh and with a letter of credit from TXU no deposit was needed.

I did a rough calculation of my savings and they were in the 18% range for TXU - Fort Worth.
In the promo it states that if you use your Amex for auto bill pay then no deposit is required. I would imagine that if you use any credit card that a deposit would not be required.

Just wanted to follow up and say that my first AA monthly miles plus the 3K bonus posted 12/09, and the 2nd months miles posted 12/21.

Thanks again, flyertalk.

You can use Mycheckree.com to pay for them, but eventually it takes money from a checking/savings account. I haven't written a check to PECO in a long time though! And I pay PGW with my CC over the phone.

Thumbs down Unhappy with Gexa Energy hidden fee

I am very upset with Gexa Energy! I signed up in January to get the AAdvantage Bonus Miles and was excited to use my HH Amex to start paying my bills. I did not sign up for Auto Bill Pay and decided I'd rather forgo the extra 1000 miles. I sat down today to pay my first bill and to my surprise, there is a $4.95 convenience fee per payment transaction to pay by credit card either online or by phone. I called their unhelpful customer service line and talked to Rosa. She said that Gexa was aquired by Florida Power and Light and since February they have been outsourcing the credit card payments and charging the fee. I was not notified or given a choice and nowhere on the www.powertochoose.org site does it mention fees for paying by credit cards. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that none were available and they would have to call me back. I am waiting. Gexa does not charge a fee for auto-billpay by credit card (YET). I may resort to that...but of course they will not give me the extra AA Bonus miles since I did not initially sign up for it (according to Rosa).

I had been watching this thread - waiting for something in NJ... but instead, I installed solar panels (paid for with a rewards credit card, of course)... now my electric bills are negligible, and by selling NJ Solar Renewable Energy Credits, I'm seeing a 30% annual ROI!
