Exclamation Charter One Giftcards - more options

Charter One limits you to $5,000 in giftcards per month. But did you know that the $5,000 limit is per each credit card number? Address, name or SSN# do not seem to be the control used to determine when the $5,000 limit is reached.

In early May 2004, I ordered $5,000 in giftcards using my United Frequent Flyer Visa card. Then two days later I attempted to purchase another $5,000. using my American Airlines Advantage Master Card.

Both orders were accepted by Charter One with no problems. Within 15 days I had received all $10,000 in gift cards. United and AA have both credited me with 5,000 frequent flyer miles each per my June statements. 10,000 ff miles from giftcards in one month is not bad!!

There are comments on this in the existing threads. I'm glad it worked for you, but most everybody else's experience is that you must use a different last name OR different address. I tried using dh's name, phone number, and cc and the order got refunded to me.

This usually does not work. I too have first hand experience with rejected transactions. Many people have posted various combinations of different SSNs/addresses/last names will bypass the restrictions.

I order 5k from a CC from my home address and 5k from my work address every month. I use the same name and SS#, has worked everytime. They are different CC and one has my work address as its mailing address. Just call one of you CC companies and change the address to your work address and order from there. Hopefully it will work for you too!

There are over five hundred Kellogg's threads, yet a second (and topically distinct) Charter One thread was quickly objected to, and a third has resulted in even more objection. What, are Charter One threads the sign of the apocalypse?

Charter One Gifcards - more options

I have also been turned down when using the same address. But when using a different card and address I've never had a problem.

It would be great if there was just one place to go for info on CharterOne. Please, let's keep it to the existing threads. There is no need to splinter the discussion. Please make it easy on all of us and just keep posting on the existing threads. Thank you!
