Hi Vandykes4 and all,
Chalk up one more million...finished final segment last night with National Airlines ending up in Vegas. (They were running four hours late yesterday - and so I misconnected in LAS for flt to ABQ - wound up at their expense at the Double Tree). Oh, what must one endure for miles?
Really enjoyed you and your group...dinner in Lima, coffee and dessert in Cuzco.

Chalk up another one for the 500,000 mile bonus. Finished the flights on Wednesday and the car rentals on Friday. My friends here in Honduras all think i'm crazy but if LatinPass comes through on the miles a weekend in the Bay Islands for sun, surf and snorkelling will probably convince them of my sanity.

I have received one million miles already on Latin Pass and my wife is just waiting for one Avis rental to come through.

Someone asked about costs for the trip:
For one million miles:
$2230 in airline tickets
(had some discount coupons for TWA)
$180 in hotels (9 nights - my share)
$250 dining
$ 50 cervezas
$120 ground transportation (car rental
in Costa Rica/taxis elsewhere)
$ 30 trinkets
$ 55 airport departure fees
$100 miscellaneous expenses
_______
$3,135 total (approximate)
When I get my million miles, I plan on using most of the miles on first class roundtrips from Hawaii to Europe - works out to about $310 per first class roundtrip.
