I posted the caller ID number in case someone wanted to be a bit presumptious, and dial it back. Maybe if the right party answers, one can give some excuse why they are calling back, and ask for the offer.

I would do the miles thing, I can get it with aging contin and nwa miles, for 3K, but I also want the web access, which doesn't usually come with those promos for 52 weeks of the journal does it?

just got the call today. 90$ for 39 weeks, PLUS 13 bonus weeks. Why can't they just call it 1 YEAR! I mean, come on. Anyway, online, paper, iphone, I bit.

My WSJ subscription is expiring. It seems like it's been about 2 years -- I guess because I get the papers held when I'm not home. I always hate to play the "I'd like a reasonable subscription rate" game. I think last time I used miles from one of my kids ff accounts to get a free subscription until they offer me the under $100 all in deal. But I'm barely reading the print edition these days. Is the "google trick" just copying the headline of the WSJ story you want to read and pasting it into google news?

the Google trick is better executed using refspoof (Firefox extension) to trick wsj.com into thinking you are always coming from google.com, thereby opening all the subscriber content for free.

I got my WSJ with either E-rwards or Delta Zombie miles..
So far so good and I even have online account to control the suspension.

Anyone gotten 6 months WSJ via e-rewards who had a WSJ sub before or currently? The terms say new subscribers only and wondering if this is really true as other terms say only one redemption for WSJ per 12 months.

You are required to not be a current subscriber. I've called and been told that means "not within the last 60 days." It's also been my experience that the calculation is from the date your subscription was originally scheduled to expire, not from the date of any extension(s). So if (1) you cancel delivery when you are traveling for more than a couple of days, (2) you tell them to extend your subscription by that number of days and (3) you travel a lot, you may be able to renew while you are actually still receiving the paper.

Thumbs down No more Saturdays with free WSJ subs for miles

I probably would not have soent the miles on this now that I know, but ALL new WSJ subscriptions paid for with airline miles NO LONGER GET the Saturday edition. It's the best day of the week to read the WSJ and now it's not part of the deal.

Sucks.

Saturday may be the best day of the week for you to read the WSJ, but the Saturday edition itself is, ime, a very, very weak paper --- full of advertising and fluff stories --- especially in comparison to the other days' WSJ editions and Barrons.

Since you are able to find more time to read on Saturday, and since you're unlikely to have finished reading all of the other days' WSJ editions earlier in the week, you might just want to save them for that purpose.

AA/DL/UA/CO all have offers for 39 weeks Mon-Sat

US/CO have an offer for 254 issues.

254 is an unusual number of issues (holidays?) and hard to figure out if they're counting Saturday as an issue or not:

254/5 = 50.8 weeks
254/6 = 42.3 weeks

Anyone know if 254 translates into 42.3 or 50.8 weeks?

[US also has an offer for 190 issues (190/5 = 38 weeks, 190/6=31.67 weeks)]

I found some old links that say 254 is 52 weeks M-F, not sure if Sat just doesn't "count" as an issue (which was the case when WSJ initially launched Sat edition) or if it's really excluded.
