I would alway recommend a sedan/limo service even though it is more expensive in Southern California (this is for 1 person, at 3 people or more, the price is almost the same and sometimes cheaper!).

The Stupid Shuttle (as well as the others) will drive around the airport until it is full.

Also, most of the 'cheap' rides such as suttle and cab (not so cheap) have awful vehicles that seem like they are going to break down at any minute and terrible drivers that rarely display any concern for safety.

depends on the location, length of travel and amount of business the limo service does.

here are some examples.

Upland-ONT
Stupid-Shuttle $20 plus $8 per person over 1st person, plus tip, 3 hour pickup prior to flight, return trip takes almost 2 hours while waiting for pickup of other passengers

Limo $54 including tip, no limit on passengers up to 4, 20 minute trip either way.

Upland-LAX
Stupid-Shuttle $50 plus tip plus $15 per person over 1st person, 4 hours before flight pickup, return, at least 3 hours to pick up and drop off other passengers.

Limo, $102 including tip up to 4. 1 hour trip.

the shuttle services do have discounts from one airport to another, so LAX-ONT is about $30.

Shop around

Don't forget car rentals. Depending on the day and your contract arrangements, they can be quite cheap, too.

The Stupid Shuttle will do two loops at LAX. If they do a third, complain loudly. I have heard the dispatcher yell at a shuttle for wanting to go to T1 after a second loop. It does seem sometime that the Shuttle will take a long time to make a loop, especially on Sunday nights.

I gave up the shuttles years ago.

One reliable sedan service is LBS 800-417-3326.

FYI, for those who take SuperShuttles. If you pay with registered credit card with C-Tribe.com, you get 5% cash back. The offer expires 8/30 but C-Tribe has been extending it for last several month.
